What is Kajabi Invoicing?

Kajabi mainly helps online creators to sell digital products.

Although there are some workarounds and you could also sell physical products or services, the process was a bit cumbersome and the user experience difficult.

But there is a new way to charge your customer now with Kajabi Invoicing.

This is a very simple invoicing tool directly in the platform.

Note here that Kajabi Invoicing is only available if you’re using Kajabi Payments, and not if you’re using Stripe or Paypal as your payment gateway.

That’s only then that you will see it appear in your interface and have the ability to start sending invoices.

How Does Kajabi Invoicing Work?

The main way Kajabi has allowed you to charge a client until now is to create an Offer for which you’d usually attach a Product (online course, community, coaching,etc.).

But if you just want to send an invoice that includes a credit card payment link, that’s where Kajabi Invoicing comes in.

You can simply create a new invoice and fill out a few details such as the recipient's details, a due date or add notes and select an Offer to determine the pricing.

Even though you still need an Offer with pricing to create the Invoice, the experience is a lot easier than going through a checkout and creating user logins (as it is through an Offer checkout).

What you can change easily is the Quantity of items.

This invoice will then be sent to the recipients email address for payment.

And because this is powered by Kajabi Payment, customers can pay with their credit card or through Apple and Google Pay or even with a buy-now-pay-later solution such as Klarna.

You can then easily keep track of Invoices payments or void them:

This also makes things a lot more individualized than the Offers which are meant to be for the mass market.

You’ll then get a notification when the invoice is paid.

On their end, clients will receive a email asking them to pay the invoice:

There is no limit for how many invoices you can create since these aren't tied to the Product limit in Kajabi.

When Should You Use Kajabi Invoicing?

There are some very specific situations where Kajabi Invoicing would be a great way to charge your clients.

1) B2B clients: A lot of companies prefer to receive a more formal invoice rather than going through a checkout process. It makes things easier to have the name of the company on the invoice and to process that with the accounting department.

The fact that you can increase the Quantity of Items in the invoice can also make this interesting for bulk sales of online training to corporations.

2) Selling services: Since no digital product access is needed, using an Offer is not really suited and it makes more sense to simply send an invoice.

3) Custom price or discount: If you want to give a special discount to only one person and don’t want to use a coupon, then an invoice might be better.

4) In person teaching: From a logistical point of view, it’s a lot easier to simply send an invoice before or after an in-person workshops for instance than sending them to a checkout

Note that creating an invoice does require you to know some details about the customer such as their name and email address for instance. You can also pull that information from your Contacts if they’re already in your database.
