For beginner course creators, cost is always an important factor to take into consideration and comparing platforms like Kajabi and their pricing helps in making an informed decision.

Because starting to build your online course and marketing funnels on one platform can take some time, you want to get the right one on the first-go!

And understanding exactly what you get for that price, or any “gotch-a” to be aware of, before deciding on a platform, can make a big difference.

Kajabi: What Exactly Do You Get?

Kajabi, being one of the most popular all-in-one platforms, may at first glance represent a substantial investment.

The first thing to understand before diving into the different Kajabi pricing plans is to quickly breakdown what exactly you get when choosing Kajabi to host your online courses.

Kajabi is an all-in-one platform, meaning that it has all the tools you need to market, sell and deliver your online programs!

That includes:

  • A website, page and funnel builder including blog capabilities
  • A powerful checkout system with an affiliate program
  • An email marketing feature with automations and autoresponders
  • Course design and hosting

That means that you don’t have to pay for a website hosting, a video streaming service or an external email and CRM system!

The process is fairly simple both for you and your affiliate and the interface should be intuitive enough that you don’t have to baby step your affiliates through it.

Kajabi Pricing Plans Breakdown:

Now that we understand everything that’s included in Kajabi, let’s take a look at the different pricing packages available.

Here is the full table:

Both monthly and annual plans are available for each package and there are no transaction fees or any hidden cost.

Note that the standard free trial for Kajabi is 14 days but you can get an extended 30 days trial by using our link here.

Kajabi Basic Plan:

The Basic plan starts at $119 per month billed annually ($149 billed monthly).

The main thing to note is that it gives you the ability to create up to 3 Products, aka courses.

Which may be limiting for some course creators, but one thing to understand is that you can create as many Offers as you want!

An Offer in Kajabi is what determines the pricing as well as the content and Products granted upon purchase.

Kajabi offer

So for example if you have a membership with a monthly and yearly pricing, that’s 1 Product slot and 2 Offers (one for each pricing).

The Pipeline limit shouldn’t be a problem since these are frankly not bringing any additional functionality you couldn’t have with the standard pages.

Kajabi Growth Plan

The Growth plan starts at $159 per month billed annually ($199 billed monthly).

On the Growth plan, beyond the increased allowance for Products (up to 15) and email list size (up to 25,000), you will also get access to 2 new features:

  • The advanced automations, allowing you to build more sophisticated IF/THEN conditions such as student module completion, contact inactivity or email engagement triggers.
  • The affiliate program, to allow people to promote your courses and get a commission for it (see our full review of this feature)

You’ll also get better support and the ability to add more admin users to your account, which is convenient if you have a team with you!

Kajabi Pro Plan

The Pro plan starts at $319 per month billed annually ($399 billed monthly).

The Pro plan introduces more Products (up to 100) and more contacts (up to 100,000) but also more websites.

This means that technically, you will be able to have up to 3 separate site front-end and back-end, accessible from the same account.

These will be separate in terms of database and content, and can be linked to separate custom domains.

Finally you will get code access, which can be useful for advanced customization or to be able to use custom fonts.

Kajabi Access Pricing

Kajabi has introduced Access in 2020 in an effort to provide a more tailored support to course creators for their strategy.

Essentially, for another $100 on each plan, you will get:

  • 6x1-1 sessions with a Kajabi Customer Success Manager
  • Double up everything from your plans: products, pipelines, contacts,...
  • Code editor access on any plan (usually only on the highest plan)
  • Early access to new releases

This may be a great fit for course creators with a budget for strategy and help with not just “how” to build something in Kajabi but also “what” and “why”.

How Does Kajabi's Pricing Compare?

As mentioned before, beyond understanding what each pricing plan includes, it’s important to see what other Kajabi competitors are offering and compare.

To help you, we’ve decided to break down 5 competitors: New Zenler, Kartra, Podia, Teachable and Thinkific.

Now keep in mind that New Zenler, Kartra and Podia are, like Kajabi, also all-in-one platforms so a direct comparison is very relevant.

Thinkific and Teachable, also great options to consider as a course creator, don’t offer the same depth of features and therefore a comparison must be taken carefully.

How Does Kajabi Pricing Compare to New Zenler?

Kajabi and New Zenler have a similar range of features but also different strong points.

Kajabi has a much better course design and student experience, offering different themes and looks. It also shows a better UI/UX and email marketing system.

Whereas New Zenler offers a Live feature and a much more affordable solution.

You can see our full Kajabi vs New Zenler comparison here.

The bottom line pricing wise is that the maturity, sense of design and strong community if Kajabi comes at a premium.

New Zenler offers a Free Beta and 2 pricing plans:

  • Pro plan - $67 per month ($447 per year)
  • Premium - $197 per month ($1167 per year)

See a full review of New Zenler pricing here

How Does Kajabi Pricing Compare to Kartra?

Kajabi and Kartra are often compared because they are both all-in-one and have both been around for a long time.

kartra pricing

Kartra tends to have much more advanced features in general (better funnel building, cart and email system), the ability to sell physical products easily, but also extras like a ticketing and calendar system among other things…

Kajabi is a much easier platform to learn however and has struck a better balance between feature and ease of use, hence why it’s usually preferred for beginners.

You can see our full Kajabi vs Kartra comparison here.

Kartra offers a 14 days $1 trial and 4 pricing plans:

  • Starter – $99/month ($79/mo paid annually)
  • Silver – $199/month ($149/mo paid annually)
  • Gold – $299/month ($229/mo paid annually)
  • Platinum – $499/month ($379/mo paid annually)

How Does Kajabi Pricing Compare to Podia?

Kajabi and Podia have a lot of similarities, pricing is not necessarily one of them.

Podia tends to be a lot more limited in its features and adopt a much more simplistic approach to set up and customization, which may be too simplified for some.

Kajabi has more advanced features in almost every way, whether that’s page building, email and automations or course delivery.

You can see our full Kajabi vs Podia comparison here.

Podia offers a 14 days free trial and 3 pricing plans:

  • Mover – $39/month (or $390 paid annually)
  • Shaker – $79/month (or $790 paid annually)
  • Earthquaker – $179/month (or $1790 paid annually)

How Does Kajabi Pricing Compare to Teachable?

As mentioned before, comparing Kajabi pricing with Teachable directly needs to take into account the fact that the 2 platforms belong to different categories.

(If you're interested in learning more about Teachable pricing see here)

Kajabi as an all-in-one platform, offers an email marketing system and much more advanced page/funnel building than Teachable. It also has more design and customization options for your courses area.

Teachable, as a standalone LMS offers just the basics, and it does so very well but you will need to integrate a 3rd party email marketing platform and probably an external funnel builder as well (which can add another $100/mo to your cost)

You can see our full Kajabi vs Teachable comparison here.

Teachable offers a 14 days free trial and 3 pricing plans:

  • Basic – $29/month billed annually (or $39 paid monthly)
  • Pro – $99/month billed annually (or $119 paid monthly)
  • Business – $249/month billed annually (or $299 paid monthly)

How Does Kajabi Pricing Compare to Thinkific?

Similar preamble for Thinkific as for Teachable!

Thinkific does have a really decent site and page builder, although not to the level Kajabi offers, but you will certainly find almost everything you need apart from an email tool.

pricing

Thinkific offers a Free Plan and 3 other pricing plans:

  • Free (no transaction fee)
  • Basic – $39/month billed annually (or $49 paid monthly)
  • Pro – $79/month billed annually (or $99 paid monthly)
  • Premier – $399/month billed annually (or $499 paid monthly)

What’s The Best Kajabi Plan For You?

In comparison to some of its competitors, Kajabi’s pricing plans and options are both straightforward and flexible.

The first factor to take into consideration is of course the different limits.

If you have a need for several Products, you have a big email list to import or simply a need for several websites - then the choice should be easy enough to make!

The advanced automations and affiliate program may also be a must for you, in which case you’ll need to go with the Growth plan and above.

Secondly, if support and guidance is something you really need, Kajabi Access offers that extra help at any plans.

Along with the code editor which may also be valuable for you.

All in all, most course creators may just be fine starting with the Basic plan and upgrade later if they need to.

So if you’re starting from scratch, start your free trial today and see what makes sense for you!
