What is Builderall?
Builderall is an all-in-one platform for any online business wanting to build a website and sell their products.
It’s not a specialist tool for online course creators but can cater to their needs, as we’ll review here.

Builderall is used by creators of a wide range of industries and aims to be the one stop shop for them.
For this review, we’ll focus on the self hosted Builderall package (and not the WordPress plugin) and how it compares to popular online course platforms.
Builderall Features
On its website, Builderall claims it offers 50+ tools and more than a 1,000 features!
But let’s take a look at the highlights and its most important ones:
Now that’s a lot of features and Builderall is definitely not a beginner tool!
We’ll focus on the features that are most important to online course creators so that you can easily see how the platform compares to other solutions.
Site & Funnel Builder
Builderall offers a very advanced and feature-packed page builder.
You can easily build any type of funnel or websites you want, there are also a ton of templates to get you started.

The page editor is a true drag and drop builder, and not just a block builder like many other platforms.
This means that you can drag page elements exactly where you want them (similar to Wix!).
You can save elements and use global ones for things header and footers. This helps cut down the time it takes to build your funnel by a lot!
There are plenty of options for elements: text, video, animation, form, timers, quizzes, etc.

And of course, all pages can be adapted to all devices easily.
All in all this is a very strong feature, the only caveat to mention might be that it’s very advanced and may be overwhelming for beginners.
As part of the tools at your disposal in Builderall, you’ll be able to run A/B split tests for any pages in your funnel.
You also have the capability, although not as convenient as possible, to create your own blog and create posts.
Checkout & Payment
As with pretty much every major tool in Builderall, you’ll build your checkout and manage your product in a different part of the platform.

The ‘Supercheckout’ makes it very easy to set up any kind of products you’d want to sell online.
For physical products, you’ll be able to handle shipping, SKUs and inventory management.
And of course you can decide which membership or course you’d like to give access to upon payment.
Builderall offers a large selection of payment gateways: Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, MercadoPago, PagSeguro.
This should cover most countries in the world.
You can charge with one-time payments, split payments or recurring subscriptions:

It does appear that you cannot set up a free trial however…
You can also set up upsells and downsells, though in a fairly convoluted way, but only when using Stripe as your payment gateway.
Once you’re done setting up your checkout, you’ll then add the Checkout element to a page of your funnel.
One interesting thing to note is the ability to choose if this is going to be a 1 step or 2-step checkout.
This allows you to collect email addresses of cart abandonment customers.
Course & Membership
This is a functionality that’s available for on the Premium plan.
Builderall has a dedicated eLearning course builder, with a lot of tools and interesting features to note.

The first step will be to customize the theme for your program.
You can then build your curriculum by adding content, including video as long as you have the available space.
The customization isn’t as advanced as some dedicated course builder, but still does a good job!
What’s interesting are the other tools Builderall offers.
For example, you can gamify your program and make it more engaging by adding things like Student Motivation.

These completion tokens can also be coupled with certificates and bonus content unlocking.
You can also set up partial access to some modules, drip content and days of activation.
On top of that you will find some learning tools such as quizzes and final tests:

Overall Builderall offers impressive elearning capabilities, considering it’s not a dedicated online course platform!
Email Marketing & CRM
This is another core tool for any online businesses where Builderall shines again.
The platform’s feature to set up email marketing campaigns and automation is called MailingBoss.

It works very similarly to ActiveCampaign, with different sections to manage your list, email campaigns and workflow.
This is also where you’re able to send SMS, but this will require a Twilio account (and the additional cost).
The email builder is a drag and drop and should allow to design your emails as you please:

You can of course create templates and re-use them but also custom macros, which are dynamic text you can manage and change in one place.
The Workflow section is impressive: it offers a visual path builder of your sequence with advanced functionality such as path splitting, lead score, webhooks, etc.

This is not something you find in most all in one platforms!
It’s very intuitive and works perfectly for beginners.
This comes and act as a complete CRM system too with an in-depth view for each people on your list at their subscription, activity and anything else you might want to see:

Again, this feature has very little to envy to a dedicated email marketing system and is perfectly integrated with other parts of Builderall.
Other Features
There are a lot more features the platform offers that aren’t directly related to online course creators but could make their life a lot easier!
Let’s highlight these here:
Calendar and booking: this is essentially your replacement for Calendly, Acuity or ScheduleOnce. This feature is comprehensive and will allow you to manage your client sessions easily:

You can synchronize your Google Calendar, Zoom account, setup different coaches, custom availability,...
It’s everything you would expect from a specialized tool but included in Builderall!
Social proof popup: These are the little notifications you see popping up on a website to tell you that “John has just enrolled in the masterclass”.
They may seem annoying but are proven to increase conversions by creating a social proof effect.
This tool in Builderall can be easily connected with your sales, your Form submission or just page views.
URL shortener: This is a replacement for bit.ly or other plugins that allow you to shorten a URL and make it look prettier, as well as track clicks on it.

Heatmap: This works very similar to Hotjar and allows you to see where on your website people stay, click and go to.
This can give some information to optimize your funnels and improve user experience.
User Experience: Is Builderall Easy To Use?
Online platforms always have to balance two things: customization/feature and ease of use.
As we’ve described so far in this review, Builderall is an advanced platform that offers a plethora of tools!
Which comes with some trade offs when it comes to using the platform, especially for beginners.

Specifically, the constant changing of domain between each tool makes the whole experience feel less coherent.
Overall, although things are as easy as they could be, the learning curve is fairly steep.
This shouldn’t necessarily be a big deal breaker but certainly something to be aware of.
That being said, since Builderall is an all-in-one, this might be the only tool you need to learn in your journey online!
It’s not however a great option for people not looking for a one-stop shop, or already using other platforms.
Pricing: How Much Is Builderall?
Builderall is a surprisingly affordable platform, even on its self-hosted version.
Although there is no free trial, you can get started from $16.90/mo:

This will give you access to:
- Domain
- Subdomains
- 2,000 Subscribers
- 2GB Disk Space
This starter plan will NOT give you access to the elearning builder we’ve reviewed as well as a lot of other smaller features.
The only difference with the Marketer plan is the unlimited amount of subscribers and the increased space.
If you really want to unlock all the features Builderall offers, you will need to upgrade to the Premium plan at $87.90/mo.
This is still very affordable compared to other all in one platform such as Kajabi (starting at $119/mo) or Kartra (starting at $99/mo)/
Overall Builderall is a great value for your money!
Builderall Support & Community
Builderall offers a lot of ways for you to get support.
The first place to start is the Knowledge bank which is well put together and easy to navigate.
If that’s not enough you can either start a live chat (during business hours) or ticket to the support team.

There are also tons of training and tutorials on how to grow your online business.
Lastly, if you want to connect with fellow users of the platform, you can join the private Facebook group and join close to 30k people there:

You can also attend one of the live events the platform organizes around the year.
