What Is Coaching.com?
Coaching.com is an online platform dedicated to help coaches sell and deliver their program to their clients.
Founded in 2012, the company has become one of the most popular online coaching platforms in the industry with thousands of users.

The platform can cater to the needs of coaching businesses of any size: whether that’s individual coaches or big organizations.
In this exhaustive review we’ll see how Coaching.com compares to other platforms in the industry and help you decide whether it’s a good fit for you!
Coaching.com Features Breakdown
Coaching.com's promise is to provide coaches with all of the tools they need to run their programs online as well as making it easy for their clients to follow through.
Let’s take a look at the overview feature list:
It’s clear from this list that the platform is one of the most advanced in this category and most coaching businesses should find in it what they need.
The target audience of Coaching.com is fairly generic (coaches in general) so some specific industry (e.g. fitness, nutrition, etc.) might need more specialist tools.
That being said, let’s break down these main features:
Client Management
The boiled-down process of how Coaching.com works is that you’ll add/invite clients, create an Engagement and assign a program template to them.
This will give them access to the portal where they’ll be able to get started with your program!

You can set up 2 types of client: Individual or Organization.
The only difference is that Organizations can have multiple coachee you’re providing services to.
They’ll find the overview steps of your program, and be able to follow through it, book sessions, etc.
You can message clients directly within the platform (convenient through the mobile app!) and also within each Item/Tasks for further instructions.
Each client will have a nice and clean dashboard you can view to see everything at a quick glance:

The number of active clients you can have is limited by your plan.
Coaching Program
You can create “templates” for your coaching programs to then assign to clients.
These are setup to be sequential and completed as the coaching program progresses.
Each of them have their own cards with Notes you can add or further breakdown into Action Items for instance.
Setting up Goals will make sure that the day-to-day tasks build up to some tangible results you will bring to your clients along the way.

These are very handy and still customizable for each client!
Of course, one of the most important parts of a coaching program is to schedule sessions.
Coaching.com has a two-way sync with your calendar (Google calendar, iCal,etc.) and will allow you to set up your availabilities:

These are somewhat basic but can be enough.
From there your clients will be able to schedule a session with you directly or you can also set one up manually.
The great thing is that these sessions can happen directly in Coaching.com if you don’t want to send people to external platforms like Zoom (although that’s possible too).
Lastly, you can share Resources with your clients.
These are simply documents and files you can send, whether that’s PDF, Word document or images.

Note that the upload size limit is 75MB, which means that you won’t be able to upload videos unless they’re very short (and they’ll still have to be downloaded to be watched).
Again, these aren’t really learning tools and Coaching.com is casting a wide net on who they’re helping here, which for some coaches in need of specialist tools might be limited.
Invoicing & Payments
The last major feature Coaching.com offers, and a must for coaches, is an invoice management system.
This is exactly what it sounds like and should replace the need to use any external invoicing software.
You’ll be able to create create and send these directly within the platform

These can then either be paid online (via Stripe) or you can arrange other payment methods (cash, wire transfer, etc.) and mark them as paid manually.
Note that this doesn’t cover any contract agreement signing or anything so that might still be something you need to outsource in your on-boarding process.
You can charge per hour, sessions, with a retainer or a fixed amount.
Other Features
What we’ve reviewed so far are the core features Coaching.com offers and that should help you see how it compares to other platforms!
But there are a few other interesting tools worth noting that we wanted to highlight here:
- Mobile app: both you and your client can download the Coaching.com mobile app and use the platform on the go! This will help you manage your clients and to-do easily from your phone.

Note that this is not a branded app and will be called Coaching.com in the Google and Apple store.
You can also direct message your clients from there and schedule sessions.
- Coaches marketplace: this is another side of Coaching.com that could very well be a deal-maker! The platform is one of the only one in the industry to offer a directory for its coaching to get more leads.

The marketplace is fairly popular and gets a good amount of eyeballs, so your listing could help you get new clients without much effort!
- Reports: this is fairly self explanatory, but you can view a range of pre-made or custom reports from within the platform about any metrics you’d like: Engagement reports, Session reports, Tasks reports, Financial reports, etc.
User Experience: Is Coaching.com Easy To Use?
Coaching.com had the thorny tasks to make a feature-packed platform intuitive and easy to pick up for coaches.
And they’ve done a fairly good job at it!
The platform is easy on the eye and doesn’t look too overwhelming compared to other competitors.

The mobile app also makes the platform accessible for both you and your clients, so extra points here!
The only minor thing to improve on might be speed as some tabs take a couple of seconds before loading.
On the client portal side of things, you’d be happy to see that it won’t take much training for your clients to use the platform:

The process to get them in is also fairly straightforward and they can reset their password at any time.
Pricing: How Much Is Coaching.com?
Coaching.com doesn't display pricing on their site very visibly…
For the purpose of this review and since we’re assuming most people will be smaller coaching businesses, we’ll focus on the Coaches pricing tiers.

You can get started with a Coaching.com account for free and get up to 3 active engagements there!
You can upgrade to the Pro plan if you need more or if you want to unlock more (up to 10 clients) or if you want to reduce the transaction fee (down to 3% from 5%).
You can also go unlimited with the $97/mo Premium plan!
That pricing is relatively fair compared to other competitors as Coaching.com aims to give coaches pretty much everything they need.
Coaching.com Support & Community
Being one of the most popular online coaching platforms, Coaching.com has built a raving base of users.
You can join a private Facebook group of over 20,000 people.

If you need technical support or to chat with the team, you can open a ticket from within the platform or read through the help articles they put at your disposal.
Although response time is good for the chat, the articles can be a little vague and hard to follow.

Conclusion:
Coaching.com is a very solid online coaching platform that really understands what coaches need!
They provide a well rounded set of features and even a marketplace to get more hot leads.
It still caters to a broader type of coaching which would only be a problem if you’re needing niche tools for your programs.
But for most coaches, this is certainly a platform to give a try! And you can get started on the free plan today.
