What is Meleton?
Meleton is a surprising online course platform that’s now going for an international english-speaking audience.
The platform has gathered over 50,000 users, according to their website, and has helped generate over $200 millions!
Meleton has a lot in common with all-in-one platforms and places a particular effort to help course creators deliver a stellar learning experience to their students.
In this review, we’ll explore the different features and tools to be aware of, and how they compare to other popular platforms.
Ready To Get Started With Meleton?
Let’s start by taking a quick look at the feature stack we’ll be working with in Meleton:
A great and promising package then, which further context is necessary for understanding exactly what you’ll get.
Let’s five into the feature breakdown:
Meleton doesn’t exactly have a page builder feature that you could use to host a full website or funnel.
What you can do however to sell your programs is to edit the automatically generated sales page each course will have:
There is enough real estate there to enter further details about what students can expect as well as a dynamic curriculum.
This is also where leads can purchase the course through the checkout.
Another very basic type of page you can build are optin pages to capture email addresses and build your list (which will save in Meleton).
Not very much you can change or design in there but it could just be enough!
If you choose to use another platform for the website/funnel side of things, which would be a great idea, you can use Meleton Widgets.
These are easy code snippets to embed a Meleton form into another site and therefore get the contact save in the platform directly.
Online Course Building
This is an area where Meleton really stands out!
The platform has a LOT of tools to make your student experience outstanding, starting with the very handy course builder:
What I love about it is how you can easily see what type of lesson you created, how long it should take for students to go through and what’s inside.
You can add as many pieces of content as you want within 1 lesson.
Everything is hosted directly by Meleton including video, audio, Presentation and any files to download.
You can also set a range of conditions for when the lesson is available and when it’s not longer accessible.
This can be standard Drip or after a certain Homework has been sent, or on a specific date - allowing you to schedule lesson publishing in the future.
Which takes us to the other part of the online course experience that makes Meleton really shine: the Homework.
As part of the course, you can add Homeworks description which will give the student the opportunity to validate their knowledge.
But the best part is that you can then have a conversation with each specific students about their homework inside the platform via a chat:
This allows you to make your course personalized and scale the unscalable!
This feature is quite unique and isn’t really offered in that way by other popular online course platforms.
On top of a CRM system that helps you segment and keep track of your list subscribers, Meleton offers a fully fledged email marketing feature.
You can setup automation and email autoresponders with a handy and visual builder:
This can help with the most standard kind of email automation and marketing you’d probably need such as funnel follow up sequences and student on-boarding.
The email builder itself is a drag and drop front-end process:
Unfortunately, some parts still remain to be translated.
This fares relatively well compared to other all-in-one platforms.
The one thing that does look a bit inconvenient is that you can’t simply send a one-time email to your list easily and will have to create an automation for it.
If you integrate Telegram, you can also send automatic messages in the app through Meleton.
Checkout & Payment
This part of the platform is fairly basic.
You can take payment through the platform which will be held for a few days in your account before you can claim it.
Checkout pages are automatically created for each offer and you can’t change much their design.
There is also no way to create upsells or downsells funnels.
When it comes to pricing options that you can offer to your students, you can make your course free, sell them with a one-off payment or offer a recurring subscription.
Free trials and split payments are not available.
You can however create special coupon to invite affiliates to help you promote your product and spread the word!
The good news however is that you will be able to easily sell only parts of your course without having to create a separate one:
This can be a great way to let people in for free as a taster and upsell them the full course later.
So far, we’ve reviewed some of the core features every course creator will need when using a platform like Meleton.
But there are other tools that could also make a difference in your decision making that aren’t found everywhere!
- Webinar: Meleton allows you to create webinars directly from the platform. This can host up to 45 people and you can schedule them easily for your students or as a marketing tool.
The cool thing too is that you’ll be able to interact with your attendees, add a call to action or simply share this easily from Meleton.
- Mobile app: If you’re in one of the regions the Meleton mobile app is available, your students will have access to the app so they can consume your content on the go.
User Experience: Is Meleton Easy To Use?
Meleton is still a new platform, especially in the international market.
Which shows on the accessibility side of things and still have some parts of the platform that aren’t translated.
But apart from that, the platform is relatively intuitive and easy to pick up.
The back-end is easy on the eye and the colors give it a very polished look that makes you want to spend more time in it!
I also really like the easy way you can switch your point of view to the student side of things, which helps when trying to understand how everything works for them!
Meleton is also fast, reliable and free of technical bugs.
How Much Is Meleton?
Meleton pricing is very straightforward.
You can get started with a 14 days free trial to get your feet wet.
After that, you’ll pay a monthly fee of $160 per month.
That price is a little bit on the more expensive side when compared to other platforms in the industry.
But keep in mind that Meleton is an all-in-one platform and that very few external tools should be needed for course creators to run their business.
We have outlined the potential need for a proper website builder if you wanted to go that route, which could be an additional cost to be aware of.
Apart from that there is no sales fee or other hidden cost!
Meleton Support & Community
Being able to get someone to help you troubleshoot an issue is invaluable when deciding on your online course platform.
Meleton offers a few ways to do that.
You can contact support directly through the handy chatbot you’ll see in the platform:
You can also join a private Telegram group where members can exchange and help each other.
The platform is still growing and its community along with it, which should add to the value of having this access!
Our Overall Rate: 8/104
Community & Support Rating:
Meleton is making great progress in getting awareness in the english-speaking market!
The platform offers a very unique and polished online course experience and will support creators that want to blow their students away while learning.
Some of the limitations we’ve outlined in this review (pricing, funnel, etc.) are being worked on by the very reactive team over at Meleton.
If you want to give it a go, start your free 14 days trials today!
