What is Nudge Coach?
Nudge coach is a coaching platform that helps your students follow through your customized program.
The main promise the platform makes is to keep your clients accountable and create a more engaging experience than a standard online course.
A lot of that experience is driven through the mobile app, which will help nudging clients to take action regularly.
Nudge Coach is part of our top 10 coaching platforms and we’ll compare its features to its competitors in this review.
Nudge Coach Feature Breakdown
Nudge Coach doesn’t pretend to be necessarily a one-stop-shop for online coaches, but it delivers a very specific set of tools to create a great learning experience.
Let’s have a look at the overview of these features:
It’s a light feature stack but Nudge Coach is meant to only help with solving a specific problem: to build a customized and motivating program.
Let’s dive into how it all works:
Nudge Coach doesn’t offer a payment system so you’ll have to invite clients manually.
They’ll create an account from the mobile app and appear in your dashboard afterwards:
The number of clients you can manage will depend on your subscription plan.
There is no built-in scheduler or calendar but you can easily invite people to Zoom meetings with the native integration.
You can also communicate directly with your clients, individually or in groups, via the internal messaging system:
This works well, especially through the mobile app, for your clients to keep in check and updated about what’s happening in the action items.
It’s your way to customize the experience for each client going through your program.
The last tool you have to interact and manage clients are Communities.
You can allow clients to post or not, and the most exciting part is that you can create Leaderboards.
These can be set to rank based on different criteria: Active Time, Running Distance, Total Steps, Meditation time, etc.
These are great to keep people motivated and use group pressure to help them follow through on the program!
Nudge Coach's main feature is its program builder.
The way it works is that you would create Cards, which are essentially Lessons that you can then plug into a Sequence.
These Cards can have multiple interesting elements:
They can contain standard types of content such as Text, Video (not hosted on the platform), etc.
Or more advanced ones that require client input and serve as trackers: Number Tracker, Questions Tracker, Health Tracker connected to your smartwatch:
Cards are simple and easy to access from the desktop app or on mobile for your client.
The whole point being guaranteeing a straightforward experience for your students that they can follow-through.
These activities can then be organized into a Sequence where you create a personalized schedule for getting these prompts.
You have the option to assign Cards to a whole group or just a selected few, which gives you an extra level of customization in your program.
That’s pretty much the extent to which Nudge Coach helps with your coaching.
It probably caters mostly to specific types of programs such as health, fitness or anything that requires implementing new habits overtime.
It’s probably not suited for organizations or business coaches for example.
There are 2 mobile apps to get: one for you and one for your clients.
On your end you’ll be able to:
- Check and keep track of clients
- Send messages
- Manage and post in your Communities
Client’s on their app will:
- Track their progress
- Synchronize their smartwatch
- Receive and answer messages from you
Both apps will be branded out of the box unless you get a custom build from the Nudge Coach team and get it whitelabeled.
They are available on both the Apple store and Google Play.
User Experience: Is Nudge Coach Easy To Use?
Because Nudge Coach has a light set of features and is built to be as simple as possible, it has a great user experience.
The platform is there for your clients to spend only a little bit of time on it every other day and make it easy for them to follow through the program.
The mobile apps make this more immersive and easy to build new habits and track results.
It would have been better to allow for some level of branding and customization without having to pay for the higher plans.
Overall the desktop application and mobile app are fast, reliable and free of bugs.
Pricing: How Much Is Nudge Coach?
Nudge Coach is a rather unique platform but it’s still worth comparing its pricing to its competitors in the online coaching industry.
It has a great free plan which allows you to access most of the available features and manage up to 5 clients.
Upgrading through the paid plans will mostly be about increasing the client allowance, from 5 to 50 for $60 per month and to 100 for $100/mo on the Scale plan.
Beyond its free plan, Nudge Coach is relatively expensive compared to other platforms we’ve reviewed.
But it might be worth it if you’re looking for the specific way the tool caters to habit-building coaches.
Finally, you’ll have to request a custom quote if you want to make the whole experience branded and get a whitelabeled application.
Nudge Coach Support & Community
Nudge Coach provides some support for its users.
One of them is a Knowledge base full of articles to help you navigate the platform.
You can also use the in-app live chat features and get a response within hours from the tech team.
Unfortunately, there are no community or groups to join to meet and connect with fellow users.
Our Overall Rate: 7.5/10
Community & Support Rating:
Nudge Coach isn’t necessarily made for the wide market of coaches out there!
It caters specifically to the coaching programs that involve the development of new habits and regular check ins and tracking.
For which it does a great job!
You can get started anytime of the free plan and manage up to 5 clients.
