What is Teachery?

Teachery is one of the latest in the blocks and has been created in 2014.

The platform is a course design and selling tool allowing you do the basics of selling digital products.

Features: What Can You Do With Teachery?

Teachery keep it light and does the basic of delivery a digital course:

  • Course design
  • Basic Page builder
  • Cart + Affiliate Program
  • Drip Content

That's it. The platform doesn't pretend to have all the bells and whistles of a course hosting platform but it likes to keep things simple for its users.

Let's break down some of the main features:

Page builder: Teachery's page builder is not a front-end one like you may now be used to use.

You'll be able to build a simple page from the back-end, a little bit like Teachable, following a somewhat frame-worked template:

Don't expect for advanced design or a lot of conversion optimization but the platforms allows for the essentials to convey the information and features of your course.

If you wanted to build a fully fledged funnel, with long form sales page or fancy upsells, then you might need to use an external page builder!

Course design: Similarly you'll be able to design your course front-end as you wish, following the layout offered:

Simple but very slick design with everything your students will need to navigate the course.

You'll be able to pick from 2 different themes.

It's important here to mention the elephant in the room when it comes to features: you won't be able to host your videos in Teachery. The platform integrated with third party video hosting (YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia) but won't store that for you.

This can be a bit of a turn off for some course creators as they will have to add another tool to their stack to really deliver on their video course.

User Experience: Is Teachery Easy To Use?

If not loaded with a bunch of features, the platform has the merit to be easy to use!

The simple back-end interface lays out all the different sections and settings easily and guides you to efficiently and quickly set up what you need to.

After all, no one really likes to spend hours in the back-end!

A cool little features showing the devotion from the company to make things easier is the Course Link section, allowing you to see all the useful links of your platform at a glance:

On the end-user side of things, the course your students will be able to go through are easy enough and accessible to any non-techie.

But because of the shortcomings on the flexility of the layout and theme, you may find that there's little you can do influence this front-end user experience.

Affordability: How Much Is Teachery?

You may have expected Teachery to be a slightly more budget friendly option, considering there might be quite a few tools you'll need to integrate to really have everything you need to sell online courses.

The pricing is very straightforward and offers 1 plan either monthly or annually with unlimited ?everything?: courses, students, pages,...

But again, taking into account other tools you might need: video host, email provider, funnel builder,...

The cost may add up!

How is the Support & Community for Teachery?

In this industry, the smaller the platform, the better the support usually is.

Teachery offers a live chat and very quick and helpful support for its customers which is always a big assets with a software company.

Since the platform was built by and for course creators, the knowledge bank you'll get access to also helps with a variety of questions you may have

When it comes to the community, the young platform is still building!

There is currently no facebook group or private community for users to meet and chat directly to the team.

User Experience

Community & Support Rating:

  • Ease of use
  • Great support

  • Too limited set of features

It's hard to define who Teachery might be best fitted for. The clear inability to be a standalone platform for course creators might put a lot of people off.

But as long as you know what it does and what you want, then it's still worth checking out and following the growth and future improvements of the platform
