What is WebinarJam?

WebinarJam, along with its co-platform EverWebinar, is a webinar software for online creators.

It belongs to Genesis Digital which also owns the online course platform Kartra.

This is a tool that a lot of online course creators use as part of their marketing funnel strategy.

Its competitors are not going to be online course platforms but other webinar softwares such as Demio or EasyWebinar.

In this review we’ll go through everything WebinarJam has to offer for course creators and how it compares in the industry.

WebinarJam Features

There are really 2 sides to the platform to review here: WebinarJam for live webinars and Everwebinar for automated evergreen webinars.

First, an overview of the main features:

  • Live & Automated Webinar Rooms
  • Live Chat
  • Just In Time webinars
  • Email & SMS reminders
  • Polls & Survey
  • A/B Testing

WebinarJam: Live Webinars Features

WebinarJam is a relatively simple platform to use and you’ll follow a step by step process to set up your webinar.

From the basic information about the webinar to the most advanced settings.

Note that even if of course the live streaming hosting is included in the platform, you can also choose to use YouTube Live or Facebook Live through it.

You choose by making it either a one-time event or organizing multiple sessions.

Directly from the platform, you can set up a registration page to collect your registrants details.

The page builder for these pages is fairly basic but you’ll be able to start from a range of templates:

This is also where you can run A/B testing.

Another option would be to embed the WebinarJam form into your website or to simply use Zapier to connect your own form tool to create a registration in WebinarJam.

Although this is mostly used for free live events, you can also decide to charge for your webinar by connecting your PayPal account.

Extra security is possible with the creation of a password for the event too.

Next, a major tool most creators will use is the notification/email system native to WebinarJam.

This is fairly standard for a webinar platform, and helps you send reminders to your registrants but also to follow up after the event.

Of course you can also connect your email software natively (ActiveCampaign, ConvertKit, MailChimp, etc).

During the live event, you’ll be able to do pretty much everything you’d expect to.

Countdown page before starting, polls and quizzes, live chat…

But also the ability to prepare a product card with a CTA link and push it live in one click.

You can also share a presentation with slides, files handout and countdowns for urgency.

After the event, you’ll be able to share a replay link of the event.

Note that you can test everything out through the Test mode both as a presenter and attendee.

You can also set someone as a moderator to take care of the live chat while you’re presenting.

EverWebinar: Automated Webinars Features

Most of the process to set up an automated, evergreen webinar using EverWebinar is similar to WebinarJam.

But here are some differences, first of all since this is meant to be a pre-recorded video, you can choose a source for this:

Note here that EverWebinar does not support video hosting (unless it’s a saved WebinarJam recording) and so you’ll have to host it somewhere else.

The more advanced setting happens in the scheduling and “live” steps.

You can schedule these automated webinars to run at specific times and dates, or to run on a recurring basis so for example every Monday and Thursday at 3PM every week.

Or you can use the “Just In Time” feature which simulates the event happening just a few minutes away from when the user arrives on the page.

You have a lot of flexibility here and space for testing.

The only other part of the set up that's different here is for when the event happens.

Of course you won’t be live so several tools will be different and instead of pushing them live during the event, you can schedule when during the presentation they will appear.

You can also display a question box instead of a live chat if you are worried about the chat being empty.

Lastly, you can set up a simulated live attendance number that changes through the automated webinar, just like it would during a real live event, for your attendees to not feel alone.

Pricing: How Much Is WebinarJam?

As for all webinar softwares, the main factor that plays into its pricing is the number of attendees you plan on having.

First, note that you will be able to give WebinarJam a $1 trial for 14 days.

The second thing to understand here is also that you'll need to be on the Basic plan and up to access Everwebinar.

You’ll get unlimited webinar regardless of you plan and the only other major difference between plans is time allowance for an event and number of hosts inside the account.

Overall WebinarJam is on the more budget friendly side in the industry when compared to other webinar platforms.

WebinarJam User Experience

Overall, WebinarJam has a bit of a dated look, but this also might make things easier to pick up.

There’s definitely nothing fancy and the back-end is very plain and simple:

Of course this isn’t client facing, and it should shorten the learning curve for this new platform.

On the user’s side, you’ll be able to customize the live room background and keep everything fairly branded to not clash with the rest of your funnel.

Some other webinar platforms are a bit better designed but don’t necessarily do more.

WebinarJam Community & Support

WebinarJam has been around for quite some time in digital terms and has a very substantial community.

You can join them in a sizeable Facebook group:

Beyond that if you need further support you can first look through the well-rounded knowledge bank of documentation.

Or contact WebinarJam support directly via anticket or live chat.
