What is Xperiencify?

Xperiencify was created in 2019 and is an online course platform that focuses heavily on gamification for your students.

According to their website they’ve helped over 10,000 creators to gamify their programs and increase their student’s completion rate.

The platform is trying to fill a gap in the online course platform market which is that only 3% of people starting an online course finish it…

One way to increase that completion rate is to add engagement tools such as gamification, badges, leaderboard, points, rewards, etc.

And this is essentially what Xperiencify help you do.

Features: What Can You Do With Xperiencify?

Although its approach is unique, the platform still competes with other online course platforms and so we need to compare it as such.

Let’s take a look at its features, what makes it unique and how it compares to others.

Here is an overview of the main features Xperiencify has:

  • Page builder
  • Online Courses (video hosting included)
  • Gamification
  • Community
  • Emails (to students only) + SMS/Voicemail
  • Quizzes & Assessments
  • Affiliate Management
  • Automations

Xperiencify is somewhat close to an all-one-platform but isn’t really one.

It has a lot of the tools needed for course creators but doesn’t really (yet) come with a fully fledged email marketing feature.

That being said, let’s break down the main tools in the platform.

Website & Page Building

You can create as many pages as you want in Xperiencify using the page builder there.

Which means you could put together a website by simply connecting several custom pages together.

This will be done by using the native page builder:

Each section of your page can be built from scratch or by selecting one of the many templates available.

There are plenty of these to get you started and they offer a relatively good design.

You can also create your own and save them to reuse later on a different page.

Overall, it can be a bit cumbersome to build pages to look exactly as you want them…

Although this is a better page builder than some popular platforms (Teachable, Thinkific for example) it’s still limited compared to competitors like ClickFunnels or Kajabi.

That being said this might be good enough for most creators and you can still build good looking pages.

One more positive thing to mention is that you can customize all of the system pages and course pages to a great extent with this builder:

Note that Xperiencify isn’t really suitable to build funnels since there is no tool to capture someone’s email.

Emails & Automation

This might be the most lacking feature for most course creators.

Xperiencify does have some email features but this can be only used for paying students and not as a marketing tool to run email campaigns or sequences for instance.

You can however integrate a 3rd party email softwares to supplement the platform but of course will have to pay for that separately.

That being said, the email builder is rather easy to use:

You can start from scratch or from one of the templates in the built-in gallery, and create your own template to reuse later.

Emails can be set up to be sent to your students based on a date or a specific trigger.

These triggers range from “Student 1st Login”, “No Login for X time”, adding a tag, finishing a lesson or course, earning points, etc.

On top of sending emails based on these triggers, you can also have other automations to either reward your students or communicate with them.

Adding a tag, badge, unlocking a new training, triggering a webhook, adding them from one course or removing them from another…

Lastly, you can also send them an SMS or a pre-recorded voice message, which are great to use additional channels of communication with your students.

A note here: SMS and Voicemails costs aren’t included in your account and you’ll have to buy credits for them:

There is no extra charge for regular emails however.

Online Course, Gamification & Community

This is the core of the Xperiencify platform and where it aims to stand out.

You can start by importing some of the handy templates available to build a course or start from scratch.

Building out your course curriculum is relatively easy and flexible in Xperiencify and compares really well to other platforms:

Note that file and video hosting is included in your plan and can be managed through the Media Library. (max size is 2GB per file).

You can add downloads, a text description and one main media for each lesson.

But also a very advanced dripping schedule, which is much more flexible than some popular platforms out there:

You can also to a great extent customize the template for each specific lesson and module.

By default, Xperiencify will include a pretty standard layout of your lessons with the video/media on top, followed by description, downloadable, and finally “what to do next”.

But again this is something you have granular control over and it’s worth noting since most platforms don’t really let you change this much.

You can also create very simple quizzes or allow your students to give essay responses to questions you’ve asked.

The last thing to set up for your courses is the gamification aspect.

Which is the most important thing for Xperiencify since this is their main selling proposition.

And there are several ways you can do so on the platform, the first one being simply distributing XP Points to students based on different actions such as finishing a lesson, checking off a quiz, etc.

These points or other actions can then be triggers for Celebrations.

These are some very cool animations that you can put together and customize to be displayed to students as success messages.

Inside the Celebration builder, you’re able to pick an animation, a background (eg: confetti), a timing, etc.

This is a great way to keep your students engaged, keep them going to progress in the course and be satisfied with their overall experience.

You can have as many of these Celebrations as you want within a course.

The other way to gamify your courses is through the Experience Engine, which enables you to create Automations.

For example you can set up email reminders if the students haven't logged in for a while, or unlock new bonus lessons to good students.

Overall this gamification feature of Xperiencify is truly unique and much better than any other platforms out there.

The promise being that if students actually finish your courses they’ll also be more inclined to buy again from you.

The last thing you can create to foster engagement is a Community:

This is somewhat basic but is on par with what most other platforms offer here.

Checkout, Payments & Affiliates

Xperiencify has a native checkout system which will allow you to take payments and seamlessly give access to your courses.

It integrates natively with Stripe and Paypal and can integrate with other 3rd party payment providers through Zapier (although it won’t be as smooth).

Once you’ve connected a payment platform, you’ll be able to set a price option that can be a one-time payment or subscription:

Note that, as of now, free or paid trials aren’t available to set up.

The good news is that you can have different payment options for your students on the same checkout page.

These pages can be customized through the page builder.

Very decent feature here for Xperiencify compared to other platforms that don’t always offer such flexibility for this.

Something else to mention is about the affiliate feature which Xperiencify advertises.

This is rather rudimentary at the moment.

There is no affiliate dashboard to help you really manage your affiliate, commission and cookie preferences for instance.

Instead you’ll have to ask people to add a URL parameter at the end of the URL for your sales pages.

This code will then appear in the CRM part of the platform for you to manually track affiliate sales.

Although it works, this makes the process rather cumbersome and not very intuitive for you and your affiliates.

You can also do this via the coupon code that can be specific to an affiliate.

Affiliate payments are for you to make and have to be done manually outside of the platform (usually via PayPal).

User Experience: Is Xperiencify Easy To Use?

Xperiencify is far from being clunky and is overall rather intuitive.

But it is clear that this is still a young platform and doesn’t quite feel as streamlined and mature yet.

It shouldn’t affect your experience overall to set up what you need in the platform but may take a little while to be comfortable with.

As we’ve described in its different features however, there is a lot of customization you can make to make the end user experience yours.

Language can also be changed to any language (manually) through updating any of the system text.

Finally, you can use a custom domain for the platform both for your pages and your emails going out to students.

Pricing: How Much Is Xperiencify?

On the main website of Xperiencify, no prices are displayed and the only call to action is to create a free account.

The platform doesn’t have a free trial but instead will let you create a sandbox account without entering any payment information.

This free account won’t be suitable to start selling your courses but you can still set up everything else.

Once you’re inside that account you can upgrade to one of the paid plans:

The first thing to note is that you can create an unlimited number of courses on any plan but there is a limit of published courses you can have depending on your plan.

Unlike other platforms, most people might not even need to upgrade past the Growth plan at $99/month since there isn’t really any significant additional feature.

Some limits will be increased (such as the active monthly customer allowance), but it’s already fairly generous to start with.

Xperiencify is on the less budget-friendly side compared to other similar platforms, especially considering the lack of email marketing functionality.

But the gamification might be enough to convince you to choose it as your online course platform.

How is the Support & Community for Xperiencify?

The level of support you get using Xperiencify depends on your plan.

On any plans you’ll have email support and access to the private facebook group with other creators.

From the Platinum plan onwards you’ll have a dedicated customer success manager and get priority support.

On top of that, you can also go through the many different support articles to understand the fundamentals of the platform.

Community & Support Rating:

Pros:

  • Outstanding gamification capabilities
  • Overall very customizable and versatile
  • Built by real course creators

Cons:

  • Not budget friendly considering it’s not an all-in-one
  • No email marketing features

Conclusion:

Xperiencify is definitely an under-appreciated and under-used platform right now when considering what it has to offer.

The very advanced gamification available should be enough to convince more creators to take a look at it and truly create an exceptional learning experience for their students.

As we’ve outlined it is on the more pricey side right now but you can get started on a free account to test it out for yourself.
